Love the interview and the story about her family. I, like her, also have Louisiana Creole roots. My father is a Creole who moved to Houston, Texas in the 1970s. I'm an avid genealogist and my Creole past can be traced back nearly 300 years on the Gulf coast.

Knowing those threads of where you come from is a very enlightening journey. Like anything related to our past, there are gaps, hidden and forgotten stories. I have extended family who left Louisiana from California and other states. Some even lived in Frenchtown.
